Located at 320 West Alger Street, Whitney Commons is a safe, clean, and fun environment for families and the Sheridan community to enjoy.
Park features include the pavilion, an amphitheater and plaza area, the popular water spray grounds, a playground, large turf areas supporting any number of activities and events, pedestrian walks and bike paths, the Dorothy King reflective flower garden, bronze art pieces, and closed circuit cameras providing park security.
Private & Community Events
Reserve one of several areas available for events at the beautiful Whitney Commons Park in downtown Sheridan!
To reserve a space at Whitney Commons, please fill out a Reservation Request.
Reservations must be made at least 10 days in advance.
If you have any questions, please call (307) 674-7303 between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
After the reservation request form is completed, you will be contacted via email by Whitney Benefits staff to confirm the reservation. Once a reservation is confirmed it will appear on the Events Calendar.

(3) West Park Field
(4) Reflective Garden
(Small wedding ceremonies only)
Please note that the play structures, splash pad,
and walking paths at Whitney Commons
remain open to the public and are not
available for private reservation.
While You are visiting
park Rules
- No smoking
- Pets must be on a leash
- Clean up pet waste.
- No skateboarding.
- Please help keep our park clean and safe.
Restroom Hours
- Daily from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
(September – May) - Daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm
(June – August).
Spray Grounds Schedule
The spray grounds are officially on for the 2026 season as of May 26th.
The season typically runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Water features operate daily from
11 AM - 8 PM (weather dependent).
