collective arts festival
August 20, 2024
Local arts organizations comprising the Bighorn Arts Collective joined forces to host the Collective Arts Festival, previously ‘Celebrate the Arts,’ a day-long celebration of the arts at Whitney Commons on August 10, 2024. This family-friendly event showcased the educational and community enrichment goals that align with Whitney Benefits’ mission.
The free and open festival featured various activities, including music and dance performances, art demos, literacy and poetry readings, children’s arts activities and artisan booths as well as food trucks and a beer garden. By hosting such an event, Whitney Commons Park demonstrated its role as a vital community space, fostering education – a key focus area for Whitney Benefits.
The Bighorn Arts Collective comprises The Brinton Museum, Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and Arts, SAGE Community Arts, Sheridan Public Arts Committee, Ucross Foundation, Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College, and the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center. These organizations have committed to enriching the arts and growing the creative economy in Sheridan County and across the region. Through meaningful collaboration with the community’s art entities and artists, Bighorn Arts Collective seeks to leverage the impact of all endeavors, ensuring that the arts thrive and remain an integral part of our community’s identity.
