In Loving Memory of Kim Love
May 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we remember and honor the life and legacy of our dear friend and colleague, Kim Love. Kim served as a Whitney Benefits Trustee beginning in 2001 and quickly became a pillar of strength, vision, and dedication within our organization. Throughout his many years of service, Kim was not only an active leader but a passionate advocate for philanthropy, education, and the arts. As chair of both the finance and education committees, he offered steady guidance, sharp insight, and an unwavering commitment to the mission and values of Whitney Benefits.

Kim approached his role as a trustee with extraordinary dedication, consistently going above and beyond what was expected. He regularly took the initiative to attend national philanthropic conferences, returning with valuable insights that would strengthen the Foundation’s operations. His deep, personal experience in philanthropy proved invaluable, contributing to the development of higher standards in fiduciary responsibility and organizational excellence. Kim’s strong ties to the local arts community led to meaningful partnerships that may not have otherwise been realized. He was the driving force behind the installation of many of the beautiful statues that now grace Whitney Commons and other cherished spaces throughout the Sheridan community.
Those who knew Kim will remember his wit, his remarkable voice, and his ability to challenge ideas in ways that deepened our conversations and ultimately strengthened our decisions. He was often the voice of thoughtful dissent — the devil’s advocate when needed — but always with a spirit of integrity and a heart fully invested in the greater good. Kim’s impact extended well beyond our boardroom. His influence rippled across Sheridan County, touching numerous nonprofits and countless lives. He believed in the power of giving, the importance of strong leadership, and the potential of every individual and organization to make a difference.
Kim’s knowledge, humor, and passion will be missed profoundly. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, intellect, and community stewardship that will continue to inspire us all. We extend our deepest sympathies to Kim’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are forever grateful for the time we shared and the many ways he helped shape our organization and community.
With respect and remembrance,
Erin Kilbride Executive Director, Whitney Benefits
